Under the hood, the GMC Sierra 1500 features a standard TurboMax™ engine with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, while the Ram 1500 only offers up to 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque with its standard 3.6-liter V6 engine. While the Ram 1500 offers a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, the GMC Sierra 1500 is available with a 5.3-liter V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque or a 6.2-liter V8 engine that cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Plus, the Sierra 1500 is available with a 3.0-liter Duramax™ Turbo-Diesel engine with 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque, while the Ram 1500 doesn't offer a similar option.

When equipped with the standard TurboMax™ powertrain, the GMC Sierra 1500 can tow up to 9,500 pounds, compared to the Ram 1500 with a maximum towing capacity of up to 8,110 pounds with the standard 3.6-liter V6. In addition, the GMC Sierra 1500 offers up to 11,200 pounds of towing capacity with the 5.3-liter V8, up to 13,100 pounds of towing capacity with the 6.2-liter V8, or up to 13,300 pounds of towing capacity with the 3.0-liter Duramax™ Turbo-Diesel. In comparison, the Ram 1500 peaks at 12,750 pounds of maximum towing capacity with the 5.7-liter V8 engine, leaving you out of luck when you need to tackle heavy jobs near Denison, TX.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the Ram 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 both offer multiple cabin configurations with seating for up to six passengers so you can take your crew along for the ride.
